As ordered, by the doctor

I had a really enjoyable night. Two phd students from my polo team, kirk and antonio, and antonio's girlfriend, Alex, and I went out to a pub for some drinks and some lively conversation. It was the perfect solution to my worries about not having people to do things with. We had lots of fun and lots of laughs.

We went to a place called Jekyll and Hyde's. It's just north of Princes St. The coolest part is that the bathrooms are hidden like a secret hideout. You seriously have to push your way through a faux bookcase to get in there. My friends knew that I wouldn't be able to find it, so Alex escorted me to the shelf. Very kind.

I told everyone about extreme ping pong. I think they enjoyed it.

We talked a great deal about water polo, as my tomorrow is my "debut" against Lancaster. We've never played them before, but the team is very confident that we will handle our business down there. We'll hope for the best.

Wish me luck.

Robbie

  2. Best of luck tomorrow against Lancaster...what's the name of your team? GO EDINBURGH! In Scotland do they say GO "teamname" or GO THE "teamname"? In Australia they say, for the team called the Swans, "GO THE SWANS!!!" So odd to my ear.

Glad you got some good socializing in this evening. And your trek (entry below) sounded totally amazing!!

  4. Good on ya, mate for getting out there. I say go it alone if you are surrounded by party poopers. You never know who you will meet - and people watching is always fun. It took me a bit to get used to traveling alone, but I decided it was very freeing. Post photos when you can! Good luck in polo -

  5. Good luck in the game! Win big! Or at least don't drown! Here's a tip from someone with lots of practical experience eating alone in public places: take a book, for sure, but don't try to read while eating in anything with a name like "A Place for Ribs." It gets very messy and propping your book open with your tea glass and your elbow only works until you have to turn the page. Take good care.

  6. I think the Jekyl and Hyde pub is where Amy and I went and had the 7 deadly sins drinks and the "sadistic shooters."
